Ben's professional career began back in 1980. Having trained with The Hamilton Player's Guild and at the world-famous Second City in Toronto, Ben began what has been a very successful tenure in show business. Ben's early credits include industrial films and guest spots on TV's `The Littlest Hobo' and `Second City'. After hosting and producing a local cable talk show called `Slick n' Slack', Ben stepped into the big leagues when he was cast as the host and producer of `Eleven After Midnight' on CHCH TV.
Then it was off to Los Angeles to perform stand-up comedy and hone his writing skills in film and television. In California, Ben was also a sports correspondent for NTV and wrote, directed and hosted the industrial videos for General Motors in New York.
Back to Canada. Ben hosted and produced `The Chaps Comedy Club', `The Veranda Beach Comedy Club' and finally, the world-renowned, `Comedy At Club 54'. Over 280 episodes of `Comedy At Club 54' have been filmed along with 15, one-hour specials! The show is syndicated nationally and around the globe making it one of the longest-running stand-up comedy television series in the world!
Ben also hosted and produced `Cooking With Comics' and `The Comedy Kitchen' as well as hosting and producing two improvisational comedy shows entitled, `Caught In The Act" and `Totally Improv'.
Ben still performs his unique stand-up comedy at clubs, corporate and fundraising shows. He's also active behind the scenes as he continues to write for film, television, radio and newsprint, and now has four books published with more on the way.
